Shoe review: Brooks Glycerin 17
Vikes Rating: 10/10
When you first start looking into running shoes, you almost feel like Goldie Locks. This one is too stiff, that one is too heavy, but this one is just right. The Brooks Glycerin 17 has all the qualities I needed to help me achieve any running goal that I set in front of me.
Over time my flat feet have guided me to a running shoe that requires specific qualities. I needed extra stability, soft, lightweight and easy to break in. The Brooks Glycerin 17 has it all.
With the DNA LOFT cushioning under your feet it makes every step you take feel like walking (or running) on a cloud without losing its durability. Before you go out and buy a pair for yourself, here are more specific details directly from the Brooks website:
Support: Neutral
Midsole Drop: 10mm
Weight: 10.6oz / 300.5g
Arch: Medium, High
Use: Road Running
Are these hard to break-in?
For me, the Brooks Glycerin 17 were comfortable right out of the box and had a short break-in period. After running in them the first few times, I could feel the extra cushion making a difference in my feet.
How do they fit?
All running shoes fit differently because not everyone’s feet are the same. For me, the Brooks Glycerin 17 fit me perfect. I usually wear a 9.5 and these are true to size.
How do they look?
The Brooks Glycerin 17 come in 7 different colors that include:
- Black / Blue / Nightlife
- Black / Ebony
- Grey / Navy
- Red / Biking Red / Peacoat
- Black / Ebony / Red
- Navy / Gold
- Grey / Navy / White
Would I recommend them?
Since I started running back in 2017 I have tried a few different kinds of shoes and nothing has come close to the Brooks Glycerin. I would definitely recommend them.
