about me
I'm a runner, triathlete, a beach bum, and a huge fan of all things peanut butter.
I’m a lifelong student in the school of running (and occasionally triathlons) living in Florida. Wondering why I named my website Vikesathon? My real name is Mitchell Veix, but it’s pronounced Vikes.
Growing up, my sport was soccer and it was my passion that filled my entire body. Fast forward to adulthood, and became harder and harder to find a group of friends willing to play. Either people weren’t taking it seriously (referring to the guy trying to play in flip-flops) or the guy taking it way too seriously (slide-tackling people from behind while starting a fight with someone half his age). It just got too complicated.
So, I found new passion: running. *cue the singing angels* I only needed me, my time, my own equipment, and I know I will get out of it what I put into it. I completed my first race in 2017 (a 5-miler), which was actually cancelled due to poor weather conditions. I still ran 5 miles on my own time though, I earned that first medal! And that’s where my running journey begins. I created this site to keep me accountable, to learn from others and maybe share some things I discover along the way.
